FAQs:
How to find a reliable wholesale brake pad manufacturer?
Before buying brake pads, it is vital to do proper due diligence and assess the quality of the manufacturer by looking at their credentials. A certified brake pad manufacturer should be able to provide you with relevant certifications on each product, e.g. we are TÜV certified and our products follow the same production process as OEM products. Alongside this, we hold additional internationally-recognised certifications including (but not limited to), IOS/TS16949, ECE R90, AMECA, and others.
It is also important to check the quality control processes used by a brake pad manufacturer – these processes help ensure products meet prescribed performance requirements for safety, durability, and performance in your local region. This is incredibly important as different countries will have different minimum standards depending on the climate, road conditions, and more. At Frontech, our in-house quality assurance department tests some products at temperatures as high as 260°C (500°F) to ensure reliability – this exceeds even the strictest OEM standards internationally.
How to assess the quality of brake pad materials
When buying brake pads, it’s important to assess the quality of materials used not just by their certification but also by checking out the look and feel of the product by requesting samples. Additionally, it’s also useful to ask about a manufacturer’s warranty policies for brake pads (and other products) as this will give you a better idea of the level of confidence the company has in their products!
What safety tests should a brake pad manufacturer pass?
There are many safety tests for brake pads, however, the key things to ask for are:
– Shock and vibration
Tests should be done to check the brake pad’s ability to withstand shocks and vibrations over time. This includes wear due to braking on different types of surfaces, including as asphalt, gravel, and dirt.
– Corrosion
Tests should be conducted on the brake pad’s ability to resist corrosion from moisture and chemicals. This includes tests for wear after exposure to salt, cleaning chemicals, and more.
– Endurance
Tests of an average life span of the brake pads are a good way to evaluate the quality of the braking performance. This test involves braking the same distance on different types of surfaces, such as asphalt, gravel, and dirt. It is important to note, however, that in “real life,” the lifespan of brake pads will also depend on the driving style of the vehicle owner, so some products can have a longer (or shorter!) lifespan than estimated.
– Noise
To evaluate braking performance, brake pads should also be tested for noise output during use. This will once again be done on different terrains, and can be an indication of how well the brake pad fits the braking system – too much noise can indicate a poor fit, uneven wear, or the presence of debris between the bake pad and rotors. Ultimately, too much noise can also be frustrating for the driver – so having a noise-free driving experience is important! At Frontech, we pride ourselves on manufacturing noise-free brake pads across all types including low metallic, semi metallic, and ceramic brake pads.
